Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, stated that Adani Green Energy contributed 15% of India’s overall increase in renewable capacity last year, with a 2.8 GW addition.
On June 24, Adani Green Energy’s Chairman Gautam Adani announced an increase to the company’s renewable energy capacity target: 50 gigawatts (GW) by 2030, up from 45 GW before.
The business magnate made the announcement during the group’s AGM, noting that Adani Green Energy built 2.8 GW in the last year, which accounts for 15% of India’s total renewable capacity addition.

He claimed that the world’s largest renewable energy plant in Khavda broke a record by commissioning the first 2 GW within 12 months of breaking ground. He added that this success reflects the company’s execution ability.

In the next five years, we intend to develop 30 GW of capacity, building on our current 3,000 MW of sustainable energy. Our pace is aggressive. Countries like Switzerland and Belgium will have enough energy from this. Adani stated that the Khavda park serves as a representation of national pride and a demonstration of their dedication to sustainability.

The Adani group had established a 538-square-kilometer renewable energy park at Khavda, Gujarat, in keeping with India’s goal of increasing dependence on renewable energy. Earlier, the corporation had mentioned that the area is perfect for developing renewable energy on a gigascale because it has some of the nation’s finest wind and solar resources.
The location is perfect for solar power generation due to its high sun irradiation of about 2,060 kWh/m2 and its speeds of about 8 m/s, the business said.
